Sound Reducing Exit Devices

Designed for quiet and relaxing areas used for enhanced concentration, Ingersoll’s Von Duprin product collection provides users with whisper quiet latches and sound reducing exit devices. Comprised of push pads, latches and exit devices, each product eliminates the sounds of door hardware, according to the company. By replacing magnetic solenoids that require high voltage inrushes for traditional noisy electronic latch retraction with motor-driven latch retraction, fewer disturbances are possible. In hazardous areas where electronics are not permitted but still require quiet latch retraction, pneumatic latch retraction is ideal. By incorporating a mechanical damper to decelerate mechanical push pads on the push and return stroke, noises associated with push pad exit devices are reduced, according to the company. Also, concealed vertical cable system exit devices eliminate the rattles and clanking of rods in the door and on the floor.
