Bilco Thermally Broken Roof Hatch

The Bilco Company introduced a new roof hatch featuring a thermally broken frame and cover designed to minimize heat transfer and the effects of condensation. The design includes an element of low conductivity between the interior and exterior surfaces to reduce temperature transfer from outside heat. The components also dampen vibration for improved acoustic performance against outside noise. Other features include 3 inches of polyisocyanurate insulation with an R-value of 18 in both the curb and cover for improved energy performance as well as a special cover gasket to minimize air leakage. Made of aluminum, the hatches are offered in a number of standard single leaf sizes and custom sized. They also feature lift assistance for easy one-hand operation, an automatic hold open arm, a heavy-duty slam latch, and a Bil-Clip flashing system for quick and easy installation.
