Jonathan Kanda

Jonathan Kanda, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, was named principal at Los Angeles-based CO Architects after first joining the firm in 2003. Kanda has more than 20 years of architecture experience in the areas of medical education and university research facilities. His work focuses on creating active, collaborative learning environments for the health sciences, and includes major projects such as the Health Sciences Education Building for The University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University and the Collaborative Life Sciences Building for Oregon Health & Science University, Oregon University System and Portland State University. Kanda received a Bachelor of Arts in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley in 1991 and a Master of Architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design in 1996. Kanda is a member of the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) and presents frequently on innovations in health sciences education.
